Live From the Lot: Manistee’s First Drive-In Concert
Over the last several months we’ve seen businesses and organizations completely change and reimagine their future. This includes those in Arts and Culture. The Ramsdell Theatre in Manistee had its 2020 schedule disrupted due to COVID-19, but that’s not stopping them from sharing unique experiences with their community.
Live from the Lot— Manistee’s first drive-in concert is taking place Saturday, September 19 from 5-8 pm at the old K-Mart lot in Filer Township. Tickets are $50 per vehicle and there can be up to 4 people per car. Sales end Friday, September 18 so advanced sales are required. The event is hosted by the Ramsdell Theatre and sponsored by the Filer Township Downtown Development Authority. Michigan-Native, Country singer, Sadie Bass will be performing.
Xavier Verna, the Executive Director for the Ramsdell Theatre says, “Our backdrop is this beautiful building that once we had Kmart here and we’re going to have 100 vehicles parked in rows and all the way from the front to the back.” The cars will be parked to accommodate social distancing guidelines so everyone can enjoy the concert comfortably.
They are also giving out shirts for those who donate a minimum of $20 toward the Century 32 matching campaign.
