What’s Happening in Northern Michigan: Balloons Over Bellaire, Asleep At The Wheel, Beer, Blues & Barbecue Festival
As the summer winds down, there’s still plenty to do in our area to soak in the last few days.
For more on What’s Happening in Northern Michigan, here’s Courtney Sheffer from the West Michigan Tourist Association.
Grab your camera and look to the skies for Balloons Over Bellaire on august 28 and 29.
More than 15 hot air balloonists will be flying their balloons above Lake Bellaire from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening.
Viewing is available from the slopes of Summit Mountain at shanty creek resort, and they ask everyone to keep social distancing top of mind as you find a spot on the mountain to watch the balloons.
This event is weather dependent, and there is no charge to attend or for parking.
The Great Lakes Center for the Arts in Bay Harbor is bringing in Asleep at the Wheel for two shows on September 6.
The band is described as 10 time Grammy winning kings of western swing from Austin, Texas.
The Great Lakes Center for the Arts has implemented socially distanced seating and limited capacity, plus you’ll need to purchase your ticket online or through the box office prior to the event.
The 3rd annual Beer, Blues & Barbecue festival is coming to treetops resort in Gaylord on Sunday, September 6.
Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy live blues and classic rock outside on the slopes, and enjoy beer and food from the dozen craft breweries who will be on site.
Social distancing will be adhered to, and general admission tickets are just $25.
