With fairs and festivals canceled this year due to COVID-19, carnival midway companies want to give a little bit of that fair experience to those missing it.

Skerbeck Entertainment Company set up a “fair food drive-thru” on the Northwestern Michigan Fairgrounds.

They have all your classic fair food options like lemonade, cotton candy, caramel corn, and, of course, elephant ears.

As you come into the fairgrounds, you will be given a menu and a pencil to check off what you want. A “car hop” will come to your car window and deliver your food on a tray to keep all interactions socially distanced.

“Normally our family run business runs a big carnival midway and COVID-19 has shut that part of our business down this year,” said Director of Marketing and Booking Sonja Skerbeck. “It’s been a tremendous loss for us. But what we can do, and what people are loving, is socially distanced safe drive-thru carnival food. “We like to say we’ve got a bunch of lemons and we’re making lemonade this year.”

The drive thru will run from August 14-16 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. You can find more information on their .
