Being in foster care is something a child carries with them for the rest of their life. The impacts can either be negative or positive but for one northern Michigan woman, it was something that carved a path for her future.
Sierra Toomey was in foster care through Child & Family Services of Northwestern Michigan and now she has a career with the agency as a licensing specialist. Sierra works with families and children in foster care to help them through the process she knows firsthand. She can understand what children are experiencing in the system and can relate in a way people outside foster care can’t.
That’s why she’s hosting a webinar with a question and answer session through Zoom on Wednesday, August 5th at noon and Thursday, August 6th at 5:30 p.m. to share her personal story and ways to encourage people to step up and foster.
