Michigan Legislature Cancels Sessions After Senator Tests Positive for COVID-19
Republican Senator Tom Barret of Charlotte says he doesn’t have “any significant symptoms” and will be self-isolating.
The legislature cancelled Thursday’s voting session and hearings set for Wednesday and Thursday as a precaution.
Barret has been critical of Governor Whitmer’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
He also sponsored a bill that would repeal a 1945 law to limit her emergency powers.
