Daniel Lewis Lee Execution Completed
In continuing coverage, the first execution of a federal prisoner in the U.S. in 17 years is complete.
Daniel Lewis Lee was executed by lethal injection Tuesday morning in Indiana.
A witness says Lee admitted to mistakes, but claimed “I didn’t do it” until the very end.
And his final words were, “you’re killing an innocent man.”
Lee is a convicted murderer who killed a family of three and then put their bodies into a lake.
The execution came shortly after the Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 vote for the execution to move forward.
Now the Department of Justice says four other men will be executed by January 2021.
