07 01 20 Mississippi Gov Signs Bill To Retire Flag VoIn this update, Mississippi is officially retiring its current state flag that features the confederate battle flag in the corner.

State Gov. Tate Reeves signed the bill Tuesday.

He called it a solemn occasion that he hopes will help the people of Mississippi reconcile their past and move on from it.

Now, a state commission will come up with a new flag design. Mississippians will vote on it in November.
