3 Northern Michigan Airports Receive Funding for PFAS Testing

Three northern Michigan airports are getting thousands of dollars in grants for PFAS testing.

Cherry Capital, Manistee Blacker, and Pellston Regional airports are each receiving more than $230,000.

It’s part of a $2.5 million effort going to 11 airports across the state.

PFAS was found or suspected to have been used in firefighting foam at these locations.

The action response team says there’s $1.5 million left in grants for other airports with eligible PFAS related issues.
