Alpena Co. Semi-Truck Crash Leaves Two Injured

State police say two drivers were treated for injuries after a crash in Alpena County.

They say just after 11 a.m on Tuesday morning, a pickup truck stopped on US 23 to turn left onto Piper Road in Sanborn Township.

Troopers say a semi carrying wood chips was driving northbound and hit a car stopped behind the pickup.

The semi lost control and went into a ditch hitting trees and jackknifing.

Its diesel fuel tanks were ruptured and it spilled fuel.

Booms were used to soak up and contain the spill.

Crews were on the scene until about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night.
