Grand Traverse Co. Man Accused of Choking 5-Year-Old

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office says a 5-year-old boy was choked by his dad over the weekend.

Deputies were called to a Blair Township home on Saturday.

They say they saw marks around the boy’s neck and bruising around his eyes.

The sheriff’s office says the father left on a bike before they got there, but was found at the Pantry Shelf Party Store in Grawn.

While he was being arrested for child abuse, he resisted officers and was cut.

The child was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment for his injuries.

A report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office.
