Midland Center for the Arts Working to Save Historical Documents After Flooding
Last week’s catastrophic floods in the Midland area have left many picking up the pieces of a life they once knew.
The same goes for all the history kept by the Midland Center for the Arts.
Now the organization is racing to save the history that filled the Doan History Center and Heritage Park.
They’re preserving documents that are wet by freezing them.
That’s in order to preserve the history before mold sets in, which takes about 48 hours.
The historic items will be kept in a safe spot while the building is restored.
The Midland Center for the Arts says more volunteers are still needed to help carry out this tough job.
