Michigan COVID-19 Case, Death Counts Delayed Due to Software Issue
Today’s COVID-19 case and death counts will be delayed due to a software issue.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) says they receive thousands of tests results, and those messages are processed through software designed to act as an integrator that connects health reporting systems.
Sunday night, MDHHS says the integration software malfunctioned and stopped processing messages from COVID-19 testing laboratories.
According to the MDHHS, the malfunction has been resolved and no information was lost but processing the backlog of messages will take time.
MDHHS says today’s data will be delayed and information will not be reported out until this evening and may not represent all data being processed.
