Several Otsego County First Responders Test Positive for COVID-19
Some Northern Michigan first responders have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Otsego County Emergency Manager & EMS/Rescue Chief tells us three members of the Otsego County EMS/Rescue team have tested positive for the virus.
Three others are currently awaiting their test results.
He says the team has the protective gear they need and has been using it properly.
“They did everything right but still you see this everywhere, care providers are on the front lines and they are getting hurt,” said Jon Deming, Otsego County Emergency Manager & EMS/Rescue Chief. “Take it serious, I mean if our people can get it, that means every day citizens can get it and this is serious stuff.”
Deming says neighboring area departments have helped them out responding to some calls.
He says anyone that may have been exposed is in quarantine and they are all following the health department’s guidance.
