Local Chef Brings Skills To Volunteering Opportunity
During this time of uncertainty due to the coronavirus, many local businesses and charities are in need of volunteers and donations.
Two weeks ago when this all began, Myles Anton, the owner and chef at Trattoria Stella and The Franklin, had to close the doors to his restaurants. With that happening, he had lots of produce he didn’t want to get rid of.
He brought the food to be donated to the Goodwill Inn.
The next day, he came back and asked if he could help in their kitchen, which also services Meals on Wheels, Addiction Treatment Services, and Phoenix House.
Christine Luce, the food service manager for Goodwill Industries of Northern Michigan, says they are in need of volunteers just like Chef Myles.
