Cadillac Champion Force, a competitive cheer team in Wexford County is a force to be reckoned with. Head coach, Niki Nichols says, “It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot more than people realize I think. People don’t get how intense it is and how hard it really is.”

Each season, they put in countless hours to make their routine flawless. They have one shot and 2 minutes and 15 seconds to make their routine perfect and hit all of their stunts. This is anything but your typical cheer team, they aren’t just friends and teammates– they’re family. “I’ve had some of these kids that are 18 years old now— I’ve had them for the last 5 years so I’ve seen them grow in a lot of different ways,” explains Nichols.

They are celebrating big this year because they made it to nationals for the first time in Cadillac’s history! “We love medals obviously when we place but obviously having something this big reward us is very exciting,” explains Kayla Alspaugh.

The level 5’s will be heading to San Antonio, Texas and the level 3’s and 4’s will be in Grand Rapids. As you can imagine, competitions aren’t cheap so they’re looking for all the help they can get from the community. Join them at their upcoming Culver’s night at the location in Cadillac on March 12th. For more information on the team,
