Northern Michigan Teen Competes at Michigan DECA State Finals

is hosting its state finals on Mar. 5 in Detroit and one local teen is getting ready to showcase her work.

We were LIVE with sophomore Samantha Helsel and head of the Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy, Kendall Schroeder to talk about what the competition looks like and how the program is impacting local students.

There are over 150 chapters and 8,000 DECA members across Michigan, and Samantha is looking forward to putting her skills to the test. She will attend the finals along with two other members on her school’s team at Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy.
