Border Wall Funding: Judge Blocks Trump Administration From Diverting Funds
A federal judge in Washington State blocked the Trump administration from diverting funds from a project there to fund border wall construction.
A construction project at Naval Submarine Base Bangor is one of more than 100 projects the administration wants to take money away from.
The base is home to submarines that carry nuclear warheads.
The Trump administration wanted to take nearly $90 million from the construction project.
But the judge said the project is too important to risk.
The plan was part of the president’s emergency declaration, which allows his administration to dip into pentagon funds to help build a wall.
