Central Michigan University Hosts Underwater Cultural Resources Conference
Over the course of three days, Central Michigan University is hosting a conference on how to better utilize underwater cultural resources.
The first day focused on management.
Wednesday they learned more about research and Thursday they’ll talk about public access.
The goal is to determine how best to balance all the uses of these resources over the next decade.
“How these resources can be accessible. How they can help people learn about the past and also about our Great Lakes environment and how it’s changing,” said Dr. Jay Martin, the director for the CMU Museum of Cultural Natural History.
The conference ends on Thursday and is open to the public.
