Bodycam Video Shows Arrest of Downstate Judge Accused of Drunk Driving in Manistee Co.

9&10 News has obtained police bodycam video of the arrest of a downstate judge in Manistee County.

David Parrott is a judge in Romulus.

He was arrested in Manistee County back on Christmas Day in 2018 after prosecutors say he was driving drunk and went off the road.

Court documents show deputies were called to the scene after a tow truck driver was called for a vehicle that had gone in the ditch.

Parrott tells the deputy he’s embarrassed he went off the road before going through a sobriety test and agreeing to a PBT.

He would eventually be charged with drunk driving but his attorneys are appealing parts of the case.

“Okay sir you’re at a .10. So you have had something to drink,” said the responding deputy.

“Must have been something at a Christmas party so I *inaudible*,” said Parrott.

“Ok, well this is above the legal limit for the state of Michigan sir, you understand that?” said the deputy.

“I understand,” said Parrott.

Parrott is due in court Tuesday in Manistee for a bond hearing.

He was also charged this month downstate with domestic violence and assault.
