Northwestern Michigan College Offers Communications Courses

From bonding with the littles you love over new languages, to making meetings more productive at work – there are so many ways to expand our horizons through education.

Michelle was back with extended education director Laura Matchett to learn more about communications courses at Northwestern Michigan College.

The classes are as follows:

Adult/Child Intro to American Sign Language

Looking for something to do with a child in your life? Come to this one-time introductory ASL class and be introduced to basic American Sign Language communication skills. You, along with a young person in your life will learn sign vocabulary, fingerspelling and some things about Deaf culture with fun, interactive activities. This is a class where adults and children age 8 and older can learn together. We promise you quality time, smiling and learning something new!

Register the adult-only; cost includes one adult and one child.
Saturday, Feb. 22

More iPhone

Build on the skills you gained in the first iPhone course. Expand the functionality of your device as you learn its multi-tasking capabilities. Discover airdrop, how to take screenshots, keyboard
short cuts, dictation, printing, photo editing and more. Learn how you can adjust Siri settings and get the most from your voice commands. It is helpful to have taken Getting the Most Out of Your iPhone, but not required. Bring your fully charged iPhone.

Meetings with Meaning
Discover ways to make your meetings more impactful and efficient. We will uncover how to shed meeting missteps that waste time and make people dread meetings. Attendees will come away with tactics that increase participation, collaboration and results.
