Polar Plunges Raise Thousands of Dollars For Michigan Special Olympics
Saturday’s weather did not stop people from taking a dip in a very cool pool to help out a beloved organization.
Hundreds jumped in icy waters to raise money for Michigan Special Olympics in Polar Plunges across the state.
The combined total from the Mt. Pleasant, Saginaw, Alpena, Lake City and Munising events totaled more than $73,000.
So far this season, fundraising efforts have reached almost $810,000.
All the money from these events goes to help provide sports, health and school programs for adults and children with intellectual disabilities.
