MTM On The Road: Free Fishing Weekend

Once the clock strikes midnight, people can fish for free.

Get your tip ups ready. This weekend the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is encouraging outdoor enthusiasts to ice fish with .

For two days, Saturday and Sunday, people won’t need a license to fish.

It only happens twice a year.

Different events are happening across the state.

You can learn how to fish like one of the pro’s at the in Cadillac. The DNR will be teaching beginners and advanced fishers how to ice fish during their . It’s a three day class that starts on Feb. 21 at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center in Cadillac.
