FDA Pulls Weight Loss Drug Off Market for Links to Cancer

A certain prescription weight loss drug is being taken off the market because of a possible link to cancer.

The Food and Drug Administration started looking into Belviq last month.

Clinical trials showed people who take it could end up getting cancer.

Now the agency is asking the company that makes it to stop selling the drug.

But what should you do now if you’re already taking this pill, or if you used to take it?

Health officials say you probably don’t need any kind of special cancer screening but you should talk to your doctor.
