Cadillac 4 Movie Theater Will Not Be Doing Spring Matinees Due to Disney Buyout

Cadillac’s movie theater says it will not be doing spring matinees.

The Goodrich Quality Theater, and other theaters who play classic 20th Century Fox films, say Disney’s buyout of Fox has limited the number of releases they are able to play.

Disney has a policy of not making older releases available for use at for-profit theaters.

The company is now applying the practice to movies under the Fox catalog as well.

In March 2019, the Walt Disney Company bought 21st Century Fox.

As a part of the rebranding, the company last month dropped “Fox” from production companies “21st Century Studios” and “Search Light Pictures”.

The Cadillac 4 says it is working to bring back matinees for the summer.
