Wellness Wednesday: Battling Inflammation & Healing Injuries

We have all heard the age-old remedy for that ever-so annoying ankle sprain – rest, ice, compress, and elevate, but what if we told you you are doing it all wrong?

Michelle was back with physical therapist Damon Whitfield of Harbor Springs Therapy and Wellness to talk about the importance of staying active, stretching, and strengthening your hurt muscles, joints, and ligaments.

When a muscle or ligament is pulled, it often does not go back to its original form so strengthening it to fill the gap is important to recovery.

He recommends working hard to strengthen weak joints, muscles, and ligaments to not only avoid future injuries but also help the current ones heal properly.
