California Coronavirus Patient Was Allowed to Leave Hospital, But Under Quarantine
Health officials say they accidentally let a patient who tested positive for the coronavirus leave a California hospital.
According to hospital officials, the person was evacuated from China and arrived in San Diego last week.
That patient and three others were treated in a San Diego hospital until initial tests found they didn’t have the virus.
All four were released, but they were returned to a 14-day federal quarantine.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says further testing revealed that one of the patients then tested positive for the virus.
That patient returned to the hospital and is reportedly doing well.
