Pres. Trump Unveils Middle East Peace Plan: Palestinians Balk at Proposal

President trump has unveiled his long-awaited Middle East peace plan.

He says it will lead to a brighter future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

But Palestinians disagree.

The president announced the plan Tuesday alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The proposal would officially recognize Jewish settlements in The West Bank as part of Israel.

That’s something Palestinians have long been opposed to.

In exchange, the Palestinians would get their own state, with The West Bank connected to Gaza by a tunnel and a capital in part of East Jerusalem.

But that’s only if Palestinians meet certain conditions.

President Trump’s son-in-law and senior White House adviser, Jared Kushner, spearheaded the plan.

“It’s a big opportunity for the Palestinians they have the perfect track record of blowing every opportunity they’ve had in their past, but perhaps their leadership will read the details of it, stop posturing and do what’s best to try to make the Palestinian people’s lives better,” he said.

Palestine’s prime minister is calling on the international community to reject the plan.
