Michigan Presidential Primary Early-Voting Window Now Open

Some Michigan residents are already voting in the state’s upcoming presidential primary.

They are taking advantage of the 45-day window for no-excuse absentee ballots.

Proposal 3 passed in 2018 to allow anyone to fill one out an absentee ballot in place of heading to the polls.

The Secretary State’s Office says there has been a significant increase in early voting this year.

In the 2016 Michigan primaries, these absentee ballots made up 18% of the total vote.

Statewide primary voting will take place on March 10.
