Wolverine Worldwide-Owned Store Named ‘Business of the Year’ Amid PFAS Lawsuit

The Rockford, Michigan Chamber of Commerce is under fire after they awarded “Business of the Year” to a company being sued by the state for PFAS contamination.

WOOD TV 8 in Grand Rapids reports Rockford Footwear Depot, owned by Wolverine Worldwide, won the award.

The state is currently suing Wolverine Worldwide and 16 other companies for their role in tainting Michigan’s drinking water with PFAS.

Home owners affected by the PFAS contamination have fought back against the decision.

Linda Southwick, the Executive Director of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce, says they do not regret their decision.
