Fife Lake Springfield Fire Department Hosts 8th Annual Carly’s Hill Cardboard Classic

Now that we have plenty of snow on the ground, it’s time to head outside for some winter fun!

The is this Saturday.

Families are encouraged to come with a sled. But here’s the catch—it must be made from just cardboard, tape and glue.

Helmets are required for all sledders and “safe kids” will be on site to make sure everyone’s helmet fits properly.

“A good rule of thumb to follow is that if you were doing something fast, you should be wearing a helmet so that includes sledding,” says Event Coordinator Tammie Budrow. “It’s going to be nice weather. We have plenty of snow on the hill, so grab your sleds. Grab your cardboard. Grab your kids. Grab your husband. Come on out and have fun with us at Carly’s Hill and help us promote winter safety.”

The free event will kick off at 11 a.m. at the Springfield Park and Recreation Area in Fife Lake. Lunch is provided.
