Father Fred Foundation Kicks Off 26th Annual Frostbite Food Drive

It’s a big weekend for the Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City as they kick off their annual food drive.

The 26th annual Frostbite Food Drive starts Saturday and goes through Feb. 2.

The food collected helps Father Fred feed the 60 families they help on an average day.

They will be collecting non-perishables like soups, rice, peanut butter and more at their drop off sites.

“We find that people really need an extra hand at this time of year because of the high utility costs, because of seasonal work,” says Elaine Keaton, advancement manager for the Father Fred Foundation. “We’re really just helping people get by after the holidays when there’s been a lot of expenses, so we need to stock our pantry shelves to help people get through these cold winter months.”

The Father Fred Foundation is also in need of cash donations. For a list of drop off locations, check out their Facebook page.
