Emmet County Parts Ways with Administrator John Calabrese

Emmet County has parted ways with now former county administrator John Calabrese.

In a last minute addition to Thursday night’s county commissioner meeting, commissioners approved a separation agreement with Calabrese.

County Commissioner Charlie MacInnis tells us many of the details of that agreement are confidential because it is a personnel matter.

Commissioners approved the separation agreement unanimously.

Calabrese was the county administrator since 2018. MacInnis says he wishes Calabrese the best.

“In my opinion, he is a great man, he has always been a straight shooter, and he remains a good friend. We will be seeking out candidates from across the state to find one to meet our needs,” MacInnis said.

While commissioners begin their search for Calabrese’s permanent replacement, the assistant administrator has been appointed acting administrator.
