MSP: Plow Driver Hit Power Pole in Wexford Co, Charged with Drunk Driving

Consumers had to shut off power to a community in Wexford County after police say a plow driver hit a power pole.

They say the driver was drunk.

James Thomas is charged with drunk driving, third offense.

On Sunday evening state police were called out to reports of vehicles damaged by low hanging power lines in Clam Lake Township.

Both drivers reported seeing a plow in the area of M-115 and 46 Road.

Police say Thomas was driving that plow and hit a ground rod on the power pole, causing the wires to sag.

He will be back in court next week.
