The Father Fred Foundation in Traverse City is hosting its 26th Annual Frostbite Food Drive this coming week and they need your help.
We met with advancement manager Elaine Keaton of the Father Fred Foundation to talk about the event and how they are helping fight hunger one food drive at a time.
The Frostbite Food Drive runs from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2 in the Traverse City community.
These are the best items to donate:
- 5 oz. canned tuna
- 5 oz. canned chicken
- soups
- oatmeal
- dried beans
- 1 lb bags
- peanut butter
- rice
- spaghetti or pasta
- pasta sauce
- canned fruits, packed in juice
They are also accepting cash donations to purchase perishable items like milk, meat, and eggs.
The two donation locations are:
- Team Bob’s at Airport & Park (across from Art Van) & Fox Grand Traverse
- Tom’s East Bay, Family Fare Chums Corner, and Oleson’s on Hammond will also collect donations.
