Petoskey Police: Former Employee Accused of Embezzling $115,000 at Insurance Office
An Emmet County woman is accused of stealing more than $100,000 from the insurance office where she worked.
In June, Farm Bureau Insurance tipped off Petoskey Police about the former employee.
After a 15-month long audit and investigation, police say she stole more than $115,000 in cash, credit card charges and checking accounts.
Petoskey Police say she turned herself in last week after a warrant was put out for her arrest.
Police have not named the woman, but say she bonded out.
She is charged with embezzlement of $50,000 or more but less than $100,000 and nine other felonies related to identity theft, using a computer to commit a crime, and stealing a financial transaction device.
