Iran Makes Arrests In Connection with Downed Ukrainian Plane

Iran says it has made arrests in connection with the accidental shooting down of a Ukrainian passenger jet.

It was shot down last Wednesday just after takeoff from Tehran’s airport, killing all 176 people on board.

According to Iranian state media, the judiciary spokesperson said extensive investigations have taken place and some people have been arrested.

He did not say how many people were detained, and didn’t give any names.

Iran initially denied accusations it shot down the jetliner.

It later reversed course, and admitted its revolutionary guard took down the plane by mistake.
