Michigan Health Officials Confirm First Pediatric Flu Deaths of the Season
Officials say two children have died after getting the flu, the first confirmed for this flu season.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services say the two children were from Shiawassee and Wayne counties.
Both were infected with influenza B.
Across the country there have been 32 deaths blamed on the flu.
Michigan health officials are urging everyone six months and older to get a flu shot.
Last year there were an estimated 34,000 deaths caused by influenza, according to the CDC.
