Outdoor Hunting Show Host Facing Wildlife Violation Charges in Otsego Co.
The host of a popular outdoor hunting show now faces several wildlife violation charges in Otsego County.
He’s currently charged with four wildlife violations.
They include three charges of illegally baiting deer or elk and one charge of illegally trapping a raccoon.
Court documents show the violations happened sometime in September.
Johnson was scheduled for arraignment Monday, but he chose to waive it.
He could face up to 90 days in jail or fines if convicted.
Johnson’s attorney, David Delaney, released a statement saying, “It’s unfortunate that the department has focused its limited resources on a case in which no deer or elk was shot or killed at a time when the state is facing a true poaching epidemic.
We look forward to a prompt and fair resolution that will allow my client’s side of the story to come out.”
