Michigan’s Crackdown on Porch Pirates Now Takes Effect
A state law aiming to crack down on porch pirates is now taking effect.
It comes just in time for the holiday season.
Starting Monday, stealing mail will become a state-level crime.
The law covers packages left on your doorstep.
A first offense would be a misdemeanor with up to a year in jail. A repeat offense would be a felony with up to five years in prison and a $1,000 fine.
