Cheboygan and Sault Area Schools Closed Following Investigations

Cheboygan and Sault Area Schools say that they will be closed Thursday.

We have no official word on why Cheboygan area schools are closed but the school shared on Facebook that there is an ongoing police investigation of social media posts.

According to the Sault Area Schools Facebook page, the district got a notice from Michigan State Police about a potential threat to student safety.

Superintendent Tim Hall says the safety and security of students is the district’s top priorities, so they are closing for the day.

He adds the district is working with law enforcement.
