Christmas shows are in full swing and no winter season would be complete without The Nutcracker.
Michelle was at the Interlochen Arts Academy to learn all about their upcoming performance and how their lead dancers are taking on some big roles. Director of Dance, Joseph Morrissey works each year to make this show new, fun, and exciting for guests by introducing new props, costumes, and of course dancers.
His two lead dancers, An Phan and Emma Skrzypczak are taking on the roles of the nutcracker prince and the sugarplum fairy. An Phan is a junior at the academy but will be graduating early and you can see just why at their opening night performance on Thursday, Dec. 12. Emma is a Traverse City local who has dreamt of being the sugarplum fairy since she was a little girl witnessing the magic of Interlochen for the first time. The two of the along with the large cast have been working hard to bring yet another amazing show to the Corson Auditorium.

Tickets are 32 dollars for adults and 14 dollars for students.
