Chippewa County Historical Society Presents Holiday Model Train Display

Train lovers were all aboard an incredible model layout in Sault Ste. Marie.

Every year, the Chippewa County Historical Society builds a multi-train display that rides through a replica of town.

The nostalgic layout winds through a city with faithful recreations of local buildings and shops. The track is controlled by an app and is big enough for six locomotives to roll at the same time.

The museum has been building this display for the past seven holiday seasons and every year it gets bigger and better.

“Years ago, I built this small layout in my basement and I never really used it or finished it.  Seven years ago, this was a great opportunity to drag this stuff out and blow the dust off and run it.  You know, it’s fun!” said Dennis Hank, model train engineer.

The museum is free to enter and the trains will be on display every Saturday from 10-4p.m. through December 28th.
