City of Manistee Hosts Festival of Trees; Proceeds Benefit Local Non-profits

The City of Manistee is putting on an event this weekend to help people get into the Christmas spirit.

They’re hosting their Festival of Trees this weekend at the Ramsdell Theater.

You can vote on more than 90 decorated Christmas trees.

Community members are encouraged to bring canned goods to leave at the trees that they vote for.

The trees are also up for silent auction.

Those donations are sent to the Armory Youth Project, the Manistee Council on Aging and the Lighthouse Pregnancy Center.

The entire event is completely free to the public.

“It gives some place warm and family oriented for people that come to the Victorian Sleighbell Weekend. For them to bring their family where it is nice and warm and they can view all of these beautiful artisitc pieces,” said Manistee Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Sherri Wehermeister.

The festival of trees runs through Sunday.
