Memorial for Traverse City Murder Victim is Vandalized

The memorial marker for a man killed this summer in Traverse City has been vandalized.

The murder along Boardman Lake happened at the end of May. 62 year-old James Chisholm was killed and his body was found by passers-by.

In July, his sisters set up a memorial near the lake to honor their brother. But sometime over the last several days the cross was broken and the memorial was destroyed. His sister Gail tells 9 & 10 the cross was set in cement and someone snapped it off.

The family is hoping someone with information will come forward.

Meanwhile the next court date for Joshua Vandehoef – accused of Chisholm’s murder – is in January. No trial date has been set.
