Gov. Whitmer: Legislature Should Help Pause Medicaid Work Rules
Governor Gretchen Whitmer says she wants to pause work requirements for Medicaid expansion health plans, but says she needs the Legislature’s support.
Starting January 1, people in Michigan’s Medicaid expansion program must show 80 hours of workforce engagement per month.
These requirements were passed last year by then-Governor Snyder and the Republican-controlled Legislature.
Governor Whitmer says lawmakers should work with her to suspend it so people don’t lose health coverage.
