Osceola County Teenager Charged Following Deadly Weekend Crash
An Osceola County teenager is now charged after a crash this weekend that took the life of another teenager.
Deputies say Creed Watson was behind the wheel of the car that crashed Saturday morning.
The crash claimed the life of Tustin teenager Timothy Rizor.
Watson appeared in court via video conference to face charges for a tragedy still rippling through Osceola County.
17-year-old Creed Watson now faces three separate charges after a deadly Osceola County.
“Mr. Watson you’re charged with three counts, one count is operating when intoxicated causing death and punishable by up to 15 years in prison and fines and costs. The second count is failure to stop at a the scene of an accident when at fault causing death also a 15 year felony and financial assessment and lying to a peace officer of a four or more year crime investigation,” said Osceola County Magistrate Dan Clise.
The crash claimed the life of 17-year old Timothy Rizor, a student at Pine River High School and stand out wrestler.
The district had counselors on hand today for students.
Deputies say when they got to this scene, Watson and his parents were removing items from the car that crashed.
What those items were and why they were being removed hasn’t been released.
Paramedics were later called to a home not far from this scene.
That’s where they say Rizor was and having medical problems.
EMS tried to save his life but Rizor later died.
Investigators are still trying to piece together how Rizor got from the scene of the crash to the home.
The sheriff says speed, seat belts and alcohol where factors in the crash.
Watson is due back in court next month.
The sheriff says more charges could also be on the way.
