Art is a way to reflect and express. The Glen Arbor Arts Center is using this as a way to promote a grateful spirit in their community. They were inspired to create a “Gratitude Wall” – a wall made up of 72, 6″x 6″ canvases allowing artists of all ages and abilities to demonstrate what they’re grateful for.

Director of the Glen Arbor Arts Center, Sarah Kime explains, “We had a gap in our funding. We lost a grant and had to come up with a way to fund these exhibits and I was looking online and thinking about the power of gratitude.”

Each canvas was sold for 30 dollars and went directly towards funding their various art programs. Now the public is able to see this display around town through Dec. 18.

Community member, Karen Zerrenner was inspired to take part in the project because she was grateful to be alive after surviving breast cancer twice. “I think people should be grateful all times of the year but this is a time when peoples hearts seem to open up and we resonate gratefulness and appreciation,” explains Zerrenner.
