6 Arrested in Dominican Republic Following Death of Former Michigan Teacher

Six people have been arrested in the Dominican Republic following the death of a former Traverse City teacher.

This is according to the newspaper Hoy.

Patty Anton taught at the Children’s House from 2002-2014 in Traverse City

She later moved to the Dominican Republic to continue her passion.

Earlier this week, Dominican police say she was found dead in her apartment.

Officials say they used surveillance footage from her complex to identify suspects.

One of them is the building’s janitor.

Police believe she was killed due to a robbery.

Anton’s television, computer and other valuables are missing from the home.

Authorities have blocked off access to complex as they continuing their investigation.
