Traverse City’s Bardon’s Wonder Freeze Selling Business

One of Northern Michigan’s favorite ice cream stands is up for sale.

Bardon’s Wonder Freeze in Traverse City is selling after more than 70 years in business.

For decades, it’s served customers on the corner of Garfield and Front Street.

Friday, owner Jim Kratky confirmed he has multiple interested buyers. He’s looking to hand it off to someone who wants to take the reins.

He said it’s the right time and is selling it for family reasons.

That block has recently become a hot spot – with a Starbucks and Rite Aid set to move in next door.
