Former Traverse City Teacher Murdered in the Dominican Republic

A former Traverse City teacher has been murdered while teaching in the Dominican Republic.

Patty Anton worked in 3 Mariposas Montessori, according to the school’s website, which lists her as a consultant.

Dominican police say they found Anton dead in her apartment on Tuesday and that she was tied up by her hands and feet.

They say it appears she was strangled to death.

Investigators say they believe someone stole Anton’s phone, laptop, and her TV.

No arrests have been made and they are still looking for whoever is responsible.

Dominican police have ordered an autopsy.
